I grew up in Southern California and, have lived on the West Coast all my life. I moved to Arizona, then Las Vegas, and now living in the beautiful state of Utah since 2015.
It has been a dream of mine, to own my own wedding business, since 2009.
The wedding business has been part of my family’s life, for the last 30 years. My mother Donna Buckles Jaster owned the “Wedding Extravaganza Magazine” publication in Las Vegas, NV for 18 years, and this is where the idea, started brewing up in my head. When my mother needed a magazine name refresh in 1994, I came up with Wedding Extravaganza Magazine. That’s when I thought, one day I’ll have my own wedding business.
It’s true engaged couples in Las Vegas, carried her magazines around, everywhere they went searching for specific wedding vendors that were advertised in her magazine. They would walk into a bridal shop, looking for a specific wedding dress, from her publication. My mother had these amazing, to-die-for wedding articles that were called “Planning, Ideas, and Worksheets,” she would sporadically include some of those articles and worksheets in her yearly publication. Mom decided in 2013 that she had to retire to move to PA, to be with her husband who was suffering from a stroke, when visiting his brother. This was a hard moment in her life. She had no choice but to pack up and leave Las Vegas, NV.
Oh no, here comes that thought again, so I gathered up everything I could, to do something later, like an online business, or write a book continuing her legacy. I am a Published Author now. Fulton Books desired to take on this adventure. I want engaged couples to have access to them today, so I revamped and updated them to be more modern. In 2009 I saved everything Mama had. Thinking I could eventually use them.
Fast forward to November 13, 2021, which was the day I launched my website. It was also the date of my first Bridal & Wedding Expo in Salt Lake City, UT. That cost a small fortune, but it was worth it. Thanks, babe, for your support!
The name of my business, I decided wasn’t good enough, itsAPerfectWedding.com, it sounds perfect, but that name just didn’t suit me. I looked up West Coast Bridal Magazines and knew, in an instant, that this was going to be an amazing journey! Nope, I published 3 location magazines and was going to publish 3 more, and decided, why not change it to continue mom’s legacy, so I changed it for the 3rd time to “Wedding Extravaganza Magazine!” 3rd time is a charm they say!
I love the idea of sharing these amazing articles. My mother was a hard worker and it paid off for 18 years in Las Vegas, NV. She helped my uncle here in Utah that’s where her wedding business journey began. Some of her wedding vendors are in the Las Vegas digital magazine right now.
